15 January 1917 the Cadets of No. 4 Company Garrison Officers Cadet Battalion entered the College. They were the first Company to be quartered within College and "owing to the great kindness and consideration of the College Authorities" they felt themselves at home. They spent 2 months in College and numbered 98, a few of whom had to be quartered in another College but due to the passing out of some of their number before the end of the course enabled these to reside in Magdalene.
