She is glad that she has received his letters and that he is having a nice time at Fountains Abbey. Asks him for the photographs from his trip. Tells him her plans for the garden. Asks him if he intends to go to Cambridge. Discusses the progress of the war. Intends to have Mrs Radcliffe round for tea. Asks him to date his letters in future.
