A rough sketch of the annual income of the master of Magdalene College, Cambridge

  1. Stipend £20 0s 0d and Commons £20 16s 0d = £40 16s 0d

  2. Average of quarterly dividends = £317 16s 3d

  3. Average of chambers rents = £24 5s 9d

  4. Average of yearly dividends = £82 16s 0d

Annual sum = £165 14s 0d

The Master has the use of the Lodge and garden and also of a small piece of ground withing the College walls.

NB. The above mentioned average is taken from the sum of the respective articles for ten years viz from 1771 to 1780 inclusive

This was the first exhibition in the Cripps Gallery. It chronicled the 1921 reconnaissance expedition to Everest through photographs lent by the Royal Geographical Society. George Mallory, an alumni of Magdalene, was part of the expedition.
