  • ‘Mother’ and ‘Father’ (Edith Emma and Charles Henry Turner) went to Egypt for six months. Hey were joined on Christmas Day by Elly (Eleanor) and Hilda who then went on to Palestine
  • Aunt Rose has gone to South Africa
  • Marian is the Headmistress of a girl’s school at Brown’s Town, Jamaica
  • Francis has had scarlet fever in Switzerland
  • George went to Oxford in 1910
  • Elly (Eleanor) became and M.D. in 1910 and in 1911 became the first woman F.R.C.S.
  • In the beginning of 1913, Marian passed successfully the examination for the Cambridge Teaching Diploma, just before her last term at St Mary’s College, Lancaster gate, where she spent a year
