Mother of Francis McDougall Charlewood Turner.
She was the daughter of Francis McDougall, the first Bishop of Sarawak. They eventually moved from Sarawak to Godmanchester, where her future husband, Charles Henry Turner, was her father's curate. She married Charles Henry Turner in 1877.
They lived in London. Charles Henry Turner was made Bishop of Islington. Edith visited and gave speeches at many parishes.
After Charles Henry Turner's death in 1923, Edith moved back to Godmanchester, aged 67. Subsequently, her son George Turner, who had become headmaster of Marlborough School, invited her and Ruth Turner (her daughter) to live with him at Marlborough.
After George Turner became Principal of Makerere College in Uganda, Edith and Ruth moved to live with Ralph Turner (her eldest son) in at Westbury Vicarage. From there, the eventually moved to Potterne in Wiltshire.
She died in the spring of 1949.
