Scope and content

At a meeting of the Governing Body on 9 October 1924 the Revd F. H. H. Clark (Chaplain of the College) and lecturer in History was elected into a Fellowship. It was agreed that the Fellowship should be called the Peckard Fellowship in commemoration of the bequest made to the College by Dr Peckard in 1812 which had become available for the use of the College. It was also agreed that the December Feast should be known as the Peckard Feast [Ref: MCGB/4/2/3].

This dinner was discontinued in the 1960s.

There is currently a new Peckard Dinner which is where the winner of the Peckard Prize dines at High Table one night along with the Master, the Senior Tutor, Development Director and the Senior Tutor and/or Master of the winner’s College.
