The vast majority of these items are from the 19th century, with an engraved portrait of the individual on the verso of the album page and a corresponding autograph/letter from that individual to Sylvain Van de Weyer or Elizabeth Van de Weyer on the recto of the album page. Printed booklet about the service of dedication of the War Memorial to those members of College who died serving during the First World War. It was held in the College Chapel on 11 November 1923 and was conducted by the Bishop of Ely. The booklet describes the memorial, the service, and contains a list of the men who died and their regiments.
Printed booklet for the unveiling of the War Memorial by Marshal of the Royal Air Force Viscount Tedder, for those members of College who died during the Second World War. Booklet includes Lord Tedder's address, details about the arrangements for the service, information about the memorial itself, details (including photographs) of the former lecture room which was panelled and made into a dining room, and the Roll of Honour.
War Memorial First World War
Designed in 1920 by Alexander Fisher and adorned with armorial shields in enamel. It is affixed under the south-east window. On 11 November 1923 there was a Dedication Service attended by Lord and Lady Braybrooke (Visitor) and the dedication was performed by the Bishop of Ely, Dr Chase (this was the first time a Bishop of Ely had ever visited the Chapel). It bears the names and regiments of the 65 men who died.
War Memorial Second World War
Designed by Mr A. Reynolds Stone (an old member of the College) and executed by Will Carter. The names are carved in seven columns, on Abergavenny Blue slate, set in a plain frame of Caen. The College arms are in the centre. The Latin inscription was suggested by Mr A.B. Ramsay. It is affixed under the north-east window. Iy was unveiled and dedicated on Remembrance Sunday, 6 November 1949. It bears the names of 129 men who died.
