Grant of the rectory and parsonage of Grainthorpe and a tenement and lands called the Grange to endow two fellowships and four scholarships in the name of Sir Christopher Wray, two scholarships in the name of Thomas Parkinson, and one scholarship in the name of Edmund Grindal (Archbishop of Canterbury).

The Wray and Parkinson scholars to be chosen by Sir Christopher Wray in his lifetime and thereafter by his heirs and
the Dean and Chapter of Lincoln from schools at Kirton or Lincoln.

      Entry from the Index to the Old Book (MCGB/4/1/1):

      Tripartite indenture between Sir Christopher Wray; the Master and Fellows; and the Dean and Chapter of Lincoln; where Wray has lately erected a portion of building in the College, now for the increase of learning and support of the Fellows and Scholars (hitherto but six Fellows and one Scholar), he grants the rectory of Grainthorpe, Lincs., the tenement adjoining called the Grange, and other land there and at Wragholme and Ludney, purchased from Matthew Sutcliffe, LL.D., to support two Wray Fellows at £6 13s 4d each, four Wray Scholars at £3 6s 8d each, two scholars for Thomas Parkinson, B.D. at £3 6s 8d each, and one scholar for Edmund Grindal at £4, and 20s given by Grindal at Wray’s request; Wray during his lifetime to nominate his two Fellows and six scholars; the 7th scholar to be nominated and the stipend to be bestowed by agreement to be made between the Master and Fellows and the governors of Grindal’s grammar school at Kirkby Peacock,
      as the archbishop’s executor shall appoint; after Wray’s death the six scholars to be nominated by the Dean and Chapter of Lincoln and Wray’s heir, to be chosen from the free school of Kirton in Lindsey, or that of the city of Lincoln, 16 July 1587
