An eminent scholar and author and an effective and conscientious Master
Benefactor to Magdalene College and Peterborough Grammar School. He left land a Stow Cum Quy to the College to found four scholarships, and a silver ewer and basin to the Chapel. He also provided a handsome organ and pushed through the governing body an act to provide the organist with a salary of £8 per annum - in effect the first organ scholarship. He left most of his books an largest benefactions to Trinity College [A History of magdalene Collehe, Cambridge, 1428-1988, Cunich et al]
